QuadTech® Heliostat™ 300 Electrostatic Ink Assist
For Packaging and Publication Gravure
The Heliostat™ 300 is an easy to install, use and maintain electrostatic roller that applies a charge to the impression roller that transmits through the substrate causing ink to consistently lift from the engraved cells significantly improving print quality along with reducing waste.
Features
- Amorphous brushes increase conductivity allowing for reduced nip pressures extending the life of the impression roller.
- Easy to install on virtually any press of any web width, up to 4.8 m (189").
- High-voltage power supply facilitates smooth transfer of both solvent- and water-based inks across the widest webs.
- Easier than ever to clean and virtually maintenance free.
- Lift-up brush modules allow narrow webs to be run on full-width impression rollers.
- Unit lift-off is available with a manual function, or with a pneumatic lift-off for ease of use with wider web presses.
- An optional oscillating charge bar can be added to the pneumatic liftoff version to reduce paper dust, ink build-up and streaking in the print.

Heliostat 300
Benefits
- Unlike corona-discharge systems, it uses a low-voltage contact technique that generates no hazardous, press damaging ozone.
- Nor does it cause costly impressionroller pitting or attract dust and dirt to the discharge assembly.
- Its performance does not deteriorate during the print run.
- It allows printing with lower nip pressures, significantly reducing power consumption, mechanical wear, and web breaks.
- The Heliostat™ 300 is also extremely safe, being totally de-energized during webbing up with fail-safe interlocks to prevent discharge until a specified speed is reached.
- Adaptable to various web widths on a press by raising or lowering charge-applicator modules, it is not necessary to “cut-back” the existing conductive impression roller.
