drupa 2008 Pays-Off for QuadTech with Increases in Sales and Customers

Introduction of New Products Gives QuadTech the Edge at Drupa

Sussex, WI--31 July 2008--After a successful drupa trade show in Dusseldorf, Germany, QuadTech, Inc. today announced more than $20 million dollars in orders booked in fiscal year 2008 and additionally approximately $10 million dollars in sales taken at the show.

QuadTech also significantly expanded its customer base with purchase orders from 10 new customers and 17 current customers spanning 15 different countries, including: United States, China, Germany, Thailand, Brazil, India, and Japan.

A great deal of QuadTech’s success at drupa can be attributed to the company’s reputation of providing industry-leading products and services; however the introduction of new products helped to confirm its leadership status.

“The drupa show is very important to us,” said Karl Fritchen, President of QuadTech. “As the printing industry’s largest show, drupa gives us the opportunity to meet new audiences and educate them about our products and services, meet with customers to find out how we can continue to help them, and unveil new products that demonstrate our commitment to not only meeting, but exceeding our customers’ expectations.”

One of the highlight sales of the show was a joint win between QuadTech and Vigitek. Shanghai Yuhui, a Chinese specialty decal printer, was in need of very precise quality check equipment and was not satisfied with its current systems. Shanghai Yuhui placed an order with QuadTech and Vigitek for multiple one-camera systems plus Q-Base.

Products showcased at drupa include QuadTech’s new SpectralCam™, AccuCam™, Enhanced Autotron™ 2600 with ClearLogic™ and Heliostat™ 300.

  • Unlike the traditional point-source sensors, SpectralCam is capable of capturing 10-15 patches with a single snap of the camera and is the only inline color control system to provide both L*a*b* and Instrument Flight gray balance control.
  • Designed specifically to address the needs of newspaper printers, AccuCam is an image-based color control system that utilizes closed-loop control to produce superior color and increase reliability, thereby reducing advertiser rebates and enabling newspaper printers to compete for semi-commercial work. The AccuCam uses a proprietary 6-channel spectral sensor with LED lighting that promises reduced maintenance.
  • The QuadTech Autotron 2600 with ClearLogic features a new user interface that simplifies set up for the operator, saving time and money during the make-ready process. Renowned accuracy of registration complemented by modularity, flexibility and cost-effectiveness make it suitable for use across the widest range of gravure packaging applications.
