Royle Printing Invests in QuadTech® Press Controls

Sussex, WI--May 2007--Royle Printing, based in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA, has invested in a QuadTech® Ribbon Control System with MultiCam® and QuadTech® Data Central®. The new press controls will be integrated, together with the company’s existing QuadTech equipment, through the QuadTech® ICON™ platform.

Royle is a full-service print and distribution company, serving small to mid-sized publishing, catalog and corporate clients. Its core strength lies in providing its clients with a high quality service, from design to home delivery. The investment in QuadTech equipment is part of the company’s continuing drive to provide the highest standard of finished product for its customers.

Chad Czarnecki, Director of Operations, Royle Printing Company, comments, “We specialize in short to medium run lengths of magazines and catalogs, all with exacting print quality standards and tight production schedules.”

“We predict that our new QuadTech equipment, combined with an ink preset system we have also purchased, would cut our makeready time in half. In turn, this will create more press capacity. Currently, we only put our larger run jobs on this press, since the makeready waste is higher on this press. With the new equipment, our makeready waste will be equal to or lower than it currently is on our other presses. This will allow us the flexibility to run any size jobs on the press.”

The QuadTech ICON platform is proving extremely popular with printers across and outside the United States and allows the user to check all QuadTech press controls from a single, easy to use touch-screen. Many companies find the system helps to free up press operators, enabling them to work on other projects. This allows them to take on more jobs with the same number of staff.

Data Central allows the press operators at Royle Printing to see just how much waste is being saved, helping them to set targets for improvement and provide accurate statistics.

Royle Printing’s positive experience with its existing QuadTech press controls was a pivotal factor in its decision to invest in the new equipment. Czarnecki concludes, “Like us, QuadTech has always been dedicated to producing a high quality product. We’ve been delighted with the support and insight they’ve shared with us. The company is a great resource for our industry.”

The ICON platform allows all QuadTech products mounted on a press to be driven by a single touch screen through an intuitive user interface.
