QuadTech’s Next Stop: Nexpo!

Sussex, WI--April 2007--QuadTech will be attending Nexpo 2007 in Orlando, Florida, April 21st-24th. Experts will be on-hand at booth 1029 to discuss products that have been specifically designed for newspaper presses.

A streamlined and more effective approach to Newspaper printing

QuadTech® ICON™ Platform

Visitors to the booth can learn what QuadTech has to offer such as the QuadTech ICON platform, that can decrease set-up times for jobs through operation from a central terminal. The QuadTech ICON platform is key to making printing presses as efficient as possible with easier press operations and reduced job changeover times.

The ICON platform provides a new roadmap for the future. With its open architecture, it provides complete integration of auxiliary press systems both now and in the future. In this way, printers will be able to eliminate errors and minimize variations in their printing processes.

Web and Ribbon Register

The QuadTech® Register Guidance System with MultiCam® and QuadTech® Ribbon Control System with MultiCam provide advanced register and ribbon control for newspaper presses. The sophisticated performance centers on the MultiCam camera, which is designed specifically for the job in hand, rather than using ‘off the shelf’ imaging technology. Using the ultra-fast MultiCam®, which searches for register marks over a wider area of the web than most competitive products, the system can identify and collect information from a wide array of patterns, including micro-sized marks that can be as small as 0.36mm (0.014in). These patterns are used to maintain circumferential, lateral and folder resignation at web speeds up to 17.8m/sec (3,500 ft/min).

Karl Fritchen, QuadTech’s President notes “Quality standards in newspaper printing has been driven higher due, in part, to the latest in press and auxiliary technologies. In the future, lean manufacturing will increasingly be used to remove wasteful activities from the printing process, producing a better product for the same price. This trend will be supported by increased automation, using not only digital job tickets, but also integrated controls, provided by such technologies as the QuadTech ICON Platform.”
